Tottenham’s end of season self-destruct ritual has begun
Tottenham secured Champions League football for next season (only an extreme set of results could prevent them from finishing in the top four), but it has been no thanks to themselves. They have self-destructed at the end of otherwise promising seasons twice under Pochettino, and they have been trying to do so again.
Seven defeats in 11 league games, and three of their last four means they only keep 4th due to their rivals’ failures. A home defeat in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, and most recently, Son and Foyth drawing straight red cards in a chaotic loss to Bournemouth, add to the sense that the wheels have come off again.
Ajax should be able to exploit that in the second leg on Wednesday, and book themselves a place in the final.Tip created by MOSCOW
